About

Pamela M. Prah

I'm a Washington, D.C. writer, editor and educator, specializing in government policy.

Currently I am an editor and writer at the U.S. State Department.

Prior to joining the State Department, I had appeared on NPR, CNN and C-SPAN to discuss my stories on state elections, gambling and statehouse trends while working at Pew's Stateline. My stories also have appeared in USA Today, The Washington Post, The Fiscal Times and The Denver Post.

As an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University, I help students in the Master's program understand state politics. Previously at American University, I taught undergraduate students how to write clearly and accurately.

Previously I reported for Kiplinger, BNA (now Bloomberg-BNA), CQ Researcher, and McGraw-Hill, where I covered business and labor from the White House, Capitol Hill and regulatory agencies.

I have a master’s from Johns Hopkins University and a journalism degree from Ohio University.

When I am not reporting or teaching, I like to travel; volunteer at the National Zoo; cheer for the Pittsburgh Steelers; run races in fun places; and try to keep my dog out of mischief.
